A — Parc
Jeanne-Mance |
This park is located at
the foot of Mount-Royal and at the corner
of Avenue Mont Royal and Avenue du Parc.
People use the park all year long, either
for the many different sport facilities
available, or for a few moments of nature.
The park is definitely quieter during
the week than on weekends: on weekends
you will find the famous Mount-Royal
tam-tam just across the street. On occasion,
the park hosts special tournaments and
events like soccer, music festivals,
and has even been the starting line for
the Montréal Tour de l’Île.

D — Palais
des congrès de Montréal |
This Palais des congrès opened in 1983.
By the late 1990’s, the Québec government agrees to invest in the financing of major renovations to enlarge the convention centre. In 2002, during its inauguration, the Palais des congrès revealed a completely new image, at once contemporary, welcoming and open to the world with its new ultramodern installations. The signature of the new architecture clearly concretises the ideals of light and transparency.
Today, Montréal is the leading Canadian city for welcoming international conventions. In North America, it is currently classed third, out-ranked only by Washington and New York.
Right at the heart of the International sector of Montréal, the Palais de congrès plays a major role in the organisation of the 1st World Outgames.
Some technical specifications:
- 18,590 square metres (200,000 square feet) multifunctional spaces, the equivalent of
3.5 soccer fields
- Numerous exhibition halls, easy to set up according to our needs
- Direct access to the metro Place-d'Armes
- Access to the underground city

E — Métropolis |
Originally built as a theatre,
then transformed into a movie theatre
in 1923, it succumbed once again to flames
in the early 30’s. It was renovated
shortly after to take up its initial
vocation as a theatre, and was decorated
by Emmanuel Briffa, the interior designer
who also did the interior design for
the Outremont Theatre. However, with
interest dwindling for theatre, the building’s
future seemed doomed. In 1997, Équipe
Spectra acquired the building, thereby
saving it from the wrecking ball. The
Métropolis has blossomed into
one of the city's most loved concert
venues, by the public and by the numerous
artists who have played there. The Métropolis
often hosts major concerts including
the likes of David Bowie, Beck, Les Rita
Mitsouko, INXS, Björk, etc.
Metropolis is located at
59 rue Sainte-Catherine East; it can
accommodate up to 2,300 spectators.
