The 1st World Outgames Montréal 2006 invites you
to become actively involved in promoting the international
LGBT sport and cultural movement by becoming a Supporter of the Outgames. You
can assist us in building upon our rapidly-growing
international network of sport teams and associations,
cultural groups and organizations that are working
for the advancement of LGBT rights around the
world. Help us spread the word and stimulate participation
in the sport, culture and International Conference
programmes! As a Supporter of the Outgames,
you will be playing an integral role in a new
chapter in the global LGBT movement.
The 1st World Outgames in Montréal will be the
embodiment of a new wave of development in the
world of LGBT sport, one that is guided by the
core values of the Gay
and Lesbian International Sport Association (GLISA): Participation and Celebration, Respect and Fairness, Innovation, Diversity, and Empowerment
(PRIDE). By developing gay and lesbian sport worldwide
while supporting existing LGBT sport organisations,
GLISA’s mission is to nurture the growth
of the LGBT sports movement, and promote participation
in LGBT sports events around the world.
With some 16,000 expected participants
in sport, culture and the International Conference,
the 1st World Outgames
will be a major international event where the
gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities
will be celebrated through sport and culture and
where participants will have a once-in-a-lifetime
experience in a city celebrated for its world-class
hospitality.
The 1st World Outgames will be a celebration of personal
and collective achievement, without discrimination
of any kind, and will leave an important legacy
for all the Outgames to come. Be part of truly
ground-breaking event and expand your network
of contacts around the world!
The Supporters of the Outgames programme
is structured to encourage international cooperation,
build networks and share information by:
- Posting your logo, hyperlink
and descriptive text about your organisation
on the 1st World
Outgames website;
- Disseminating information about
your activities and accomplishments on the Supporters
of the Outgames section of our website;
- Providing you with 1st World Outgames promotional material to distribute
at meets, tournaments and other gatherings;
- Supporting
your organisation’s activities by publicising
them via our Club Montreal 2006 Enews electronic
newsletter, issued monthly;
- Assigning
you a designated Outgames contact who can assist
you in coordinating efforts to bring members
of your organisation to Montréal in 2006.
To become a Supporter
of the Outgames, just follow the steps
below:
- Contact Montréal
2006 by email at sports@montreal2006.org,
saying that you would like to become a Supporter
of the Outgames
- Send us your logo, hyperlink
information and a brief description of your
organisation, as you wish it to appear on our
website.
- Include your mailing address,
telephone and fax numbers and primary contact
for your organisation.
- Post the Montréal
2006 logo (with hyperlink) and banner on your
website. Your designated Outgames contact will
provide you with this material.
- Distribute 1st World Outgames promotional material during your
organisation’s activities.
- List the 1st World Outgames Montréal 2006 in your
calendar and announce our event in other publications
you may produce, such as competition programmes
or electronic newsletters.
- Provide Montréal
2006 with automatic sponsor status for all of
your organisation’s activities. Montréal
2006 may, depending upon location and schedule,
make additional contributions to your activities
in the form of personnel or an on-site presence
of Montréal 2006 representatives.
- Hold one information session
and/or registration party in 2005 and one in
2006 to stimulate registrations for the 1st
World Outgames. When locations and schedules
permit, Montréal 2006 representatives
may be on-site to present the 1st World Outgames to your members.
- Make public your support
for the 1st World Outgames Montreal 2006 by becoming a Supporter
of the Outgames.
The Supporters of
the Outgames Programme is a way for sport and cultural organisations
to reach out to their peers, expand their network
of contacts and share information with LGBT organisations
while promoting sport, culture and rights as part
of the 1st World Outgames Montréal 2006. Join us in
