Individual (Time
Trial, Marathon and Half Marathon)
There will be a
separate competition for men and for women, divided
by age and division.
Finish Line
The ranking and the position
of the athletes will be determined according to
the transponder signal of the central timing.
For the Marathon, no cross-drafting
will be allowed. This technique, however, can
be used by the Half Marathon participants.
Team Relay
A team will be composed of
four (4) in-line skaters. Three divisions will
be offered: Men, Women and Mixed (2 men and 2
women). Individuals from all age groups may be
part of a team. Like in Speed Skating Relays,
exchanges will be completed by touching or pushing
the following in-line skater.
For the Recreational division, cross-drafting
will be permitted and the relays will be completed
with the aid of a foam baton.
Finish Line
The general classification will be calculated
according to the accumulated time required to
complete the number of required laps (24 laps
for Competitive and 20 laps for Recreational).
The top three teams will receive gold, silver
and bronze medals.
Equipment
An approved cycling helmet
is mandatory for all participants during training
and racing. Other protective equipment, such as
wrist guards, gloves, knee and elbow pads, are
highly recommended.
Inline skates (speed skating
style) consist of a boot and a fixed frame (wheel
assembly). The boots are specially designed to
be aerodynamic and lightweight. The frames may
have 4, 5 or 6 wheels. Skates must not exceed
50 cm in length.
Mechanical Repairs
More details about inline skate
stores and services will be posted here soon.
Feed & Water
Zone
A feed & water zone will
be available for the Marathon and Half-Marathon
event.
(Applicable to both men and
women)
Participants’ ages will be
determined by their age as of 31 December 2006.
Participants may register in only one division
and may compete in all races offered within that
division.
The competition schedule will be posted after
the closing of the registration period in July
2006. Warm-up periods will be scheduled before
competitions (additional information available
soon).
During the accreditation,
participants from Canada will be required to show
government-issued identification with a photo.
For athletes from all other countries, a passport
will be the preferred form of identification. Furthermore,
every participant will be required to provide his
or her participant number.
